Tamba (丹波国; - No kuni) is an old province of the Japan. If the province still existed, it would be divided between the prefecture of Kyōtō and that of Hyogō. the province of Tamba was surrounded by the provinces of Harima, Ōmi, Settsu, Tajima, Tango, Wakasa and Yamashiro.
It is supposed that the old provincial capital was in the area of the current city of Kameoka. The area was controlled by a succession of small Daimyo S pertaining to the Clan Hatano before being conquered by Nobunaga Oda and assigned with its general Akechi Mitsuhide.
