Geography
History
The Honorius emperor made of Ravenne the capital of the Roman empire of Occident while taking refuge there in year 400 whereas Rome was threatened by the Barbarians. Ostrogoths made of Ravenne their capital, under king Théodoric. After the Byzantine conquest, the majority were massacred or off-set in Byzance, and only a minority remained in the area. These last converts with Catholicism mélèrent themselves with the Romans and disappeared as people distinct as of the end from the 6th century. Their descendants are recognizable nowadays with their fair hair or châtains and their blue eyes.
