Province of Parinacochas

The province of Parinacochas , is one of the 11 provinces which compose the Région of Ayacucho to the Peru. It is limited

  • to north by the provinces of Andahuaylas, Aymaraes and Antabamba (Région of Apurímac),
  • in the east by the Province of Paucar del Sara Sara,
  • in the south by the Région of Arequipa,
  • in the west by the Province of Lucanas.

Administrative divisions

The province has a surface of 5  968,32 km ² and are divided into 8 districts:
  • Coracora

  • Chumpi
  • Coronel Castañeda
  • Pacapausa
  • Pullo
  • Puyusca
  • San Francisco de Ravacayco
  • Upahuacho

Population

The population of the province was estimated at 24  726 inhabitants in 2002.

Capital

The capital of the province is the town of Coracora .
