Province of Kaga

The province of Kaga (加賀国, Kaga No kuni ) is a old province Japan which constitutes the southern part of current the Préfecture of Ishikawa. It was bordered by the provinces of Echizen, Etchū, Hida, and Noto. Its capital was Kanazawa.
It was a long time the stronghold of the Clan Maeda, stronghold which included also the provinces close to Noto and Etchū.
For the Muromachi period, the province was had by the Clan Togashi.
