Province of Harima
The province of Harima (播磨国, Harima No kuni ), also called Banshū (播州) is a old province Japan which constitutes the south-western part of current the Préfecture of Hyōgo. It was located on Honshū at the edge of the Inland sea of Seto and was bordered by the provinces of Tajima, of Tamba, Settsu, Bizen, and Mimasaka. Its capital was Himeji.
During the Period Edo, the stronghold of Akō ( Akō-han ), from where the 47 were originating Rōnin, belonged to Harima.
During the Period Sengoku, the province of Harima was directed by the Clan Bessho.
During the time Azuchi Momoyama, the province was held by the Clan Kuroda.
