Province of Florence
the province of Florence is one of the provinces of the Toscane, one of the 20 Régions of Italy.
It is next to in north and the east the Emilie-Romagna, and the other provinces of Tuscany: in south-east the Province of Arezzo, in the south the Province of His, in the west the Province of Pisa, with the North-West, the Province of Lucques, the Province of Pistoia, the Province of Prato.
History
The province derives directly from the definition of the large-ducal possessions, which include/understand the oldest dominations florentines.The modifications occurred then are:
- In 1923, the detachment of Rocca San Casciano for the Province of Forlì-Césène, supposedly the Tuscan Roman (common of Bagno di Romagna, Dovadola, Galeata, Modigliana, Portico E San Benedetto, Premilcuore, Rocca San Casciano, Santa Sofia, Sorbano (removed in 1964), Castrocaro Term E Terra LED Plate, Tredozio and Verghereto).
- In 1925, the transfer with the Province of Pisa of the communes of Castelfranco di Sotto, Montopoli in Valley of Arno, San Miniato, Santa Croce sull' Arno and Santa Maria has Monte.
- In 1927, the detachment of the communes of Agliana, Cutigliano, Lamporecchio, Larciano, Marliana, Montale, Pistoia, Piteglio, San Marcello Pistoiese, Serravalle Pistoiese and Tizzana (today Quarrata) which formed the Province of Pistoia.
- In 1992, the detachment of the communes of Prato (chief town), Cantagallo, Carmignano, Montemurlo, Poggio has Caiano, Vaiano and Vernio which forms the news Province of Prato, initials PO.
Geography
The province of Florence beyond containing an incomparable city like Florence, comprises zones in which a massive and uncontrolled urbanization recent caused a stop of the agrarian development.
