The Province of Chepén is one of the 12 province S which compose the Région of Libertad to the Peru. It is limited

• to north by the Région of Lambayeque,
• in the east by the Région of Cajamarca,
• in the south by the Province of Pacasmayo
• in the west by the Pacific Ocean.

Administrative divisions

The province has a surface of 1.142,43 square kilometers and is divided into 3 districts:

• Chepén

• Pacanga
• Pueblo Nuevo

Population

The population of the province was estimated at 68.147 inhabitants in 2002 (INEI).

The capital of the province is the town of Chepén .
