Bingo (備後国, Bingo No kuni ) is an old province of the Japan which corresponds to the part is current current Préfecture of Hiroshima, on the island of Honshū.

Geography

Bingo was surrounded by the provinces of Aki, of Iwami, Izumo, Hōki and Bitchū.

It is supposed that the old provincial capital was in the surroundings of Fuchū.

History

During the time Sengoku, Bingo was part of the field pertaining to the Clan Mori, but after the defeat of the clan vis-a-vis Ieyasu Tokugawa with the Bataille of Sekigahara, the province was controlled by allies of Tokugawa.
