ProvideX
ProvideX (in summary, PVX) is a language “BASIC”.
Resulting from the Businesses BASIC, it knew to not only be one tool making it possible to migrate the applications in text mode towards graphic softwares, but especially, it remains in constant evolution and allows, inter alia things, the Programmation directed object (OOP), the use of components COM, DLL…
The ProvideX language has the double advantage of being simple, and very complete. It is thus easy to learn. A developer not initiated can quickly carry out its first applications, but the expert has access to the layers among lowest of the system to program in detail very pointed Logiciel S.
One of the main advantages of this language is that it is portable on several platforms (Windows, Unix-Linux, MAC); thus, the applications carried out in ProvideX could be distributed “universally”, without obliging the user to adopt an operating system rather than another.
The Système of data managed nativement by ProvideX allows the creation of files multi-keys (to 255 keys of 255 segments each one), of a capacity of several téra- Octet S. These files allows an access of the type ISAM (Séquentiel indexed) to the data, manages the transactions (made, rollback), and thus makes it possible to restore their initial state in the event of abandonment of procedure of modification of data.
It is open on technologies relating to the relational databases, the Web, the waiters of applications…
In France, the community of developers PVX is new and restricted. The users are comparatively numerous, but the business applications which they use are sufficiently independent and functional calculuses to enable them to be unaware of that their software is developed with ProvideX.
With the the United States, the use of this language in famous software packages of accountancy and finances do of them one of most effective in the world of the software dedicated to the Gestion.
The site: http://www.pvxaddict.net is in French. It constitutes a good base of knowledge and access to the arsenal of the development tools that ProvideX proposes.
