Provency
Provency is a common French, located in the department of the Yonne and the area Burgundy.
Geography
History
The village of Provency is quoted with the XIIe century under the name of " Provence" or " Proency". Provency and its Hameau X formed several Seigneurie S raising the ones (Provency and Genouilly) of Montreal, the others (Marcilly and Turn-of-Prey) of Noyers.
Bur, Lord of Marcilly and of Turn-of-Prey, founded in 1239 the Abbaye women of Our-Lady-of-Good-Rest, about Cîteaux where the close parishes came in Pèlerinage in climatic time of calamity and where were made bury a great number of representatives of the local nobility.
