History

The group was founded in 1963, by Gustave and Roger Rosnoblet starting from a grocer of the district of the Post office with Annecy. As of 1965, a second store is always open in Annecy.

In the Years 1970, the company bases its difference on partnerships with regional producers and adopts his communication on the slogan “Being of the country makes our difference”. The group opens 8 supermarkets and its first two hypermarkets (Cluses and Margencel), and in 1975, it leans with the power station of distribution of the Group Promodès.

After one decade of consolidation, the group will know a new strong expansion in the Années 1990, with new stores and enlargings (Tullins, Groisy, Belley, Crémieu and Ferney). In 1995, the group acquires 5 stores in the Pays of Gex.

Starting from 1999, it engages a program of restoration and all the stores pass to the sign “Champion” or “Crossroads”.

In 2002, the group opens 2 new supermarkets.

In 2004, 3 stores were increased (Seyssel, Groisy, Sévrier) and another bought (Ugine).

In 2006: Provencia counts 2 new stores (Annecy Novel (74) - Morestel (38)) with the sign ED, which changes to 4 the number of store to the sign ED.

April 2006, the group opens its first Cybermarché provencia-shop.com with a parcel delivery in residence in the area of Annecy (28 communes). In 2007: creation of 2 new sales areas, a Champion with Cruseilles and another with Rochette. There is also the enlarging transfer of the Champion of Douvaine. Acquisition of a new store ED with Bonneville, it is 1° store ED equipped with a station for the fuel. Deployment of the provencia-shop.com concept in Douvaine in its version light. I.e. with only the possibility of withdrawal of goods.
