Prov.
prov. is, in the Slavic Mythologie, the god of the Justice.
He is represented by an old man equipped all in white, with a chain on the chest (symbol of the completion of each business treated by justice). Its attributes are a stone (symbol of the Crime) and a lance (inevitable symbol of punishment). The innumerable folds of its clothing contain the wisest decisions. Prov. carries a crown of branches. The latter does not hide however its ears, which symbolizes its attention and the capacity all to discover, all to hear. Nobody can thus nothing hide to him. It controls the judges and punishes those which make the bad decisions. There does not exist temple dedicated to this God.
Prov. is represented by a statue posed in thickets of oak. The statuette is entorée several idols which must supervise all that does not correspond to the laws and the will of prov. Nothing escaped with prov. and the criminals never remains unpunished.
