Prototype
A prototype (of the Greek arkhetupon , “primitive model”, via Latin archetypum ) is, in literature and philosophy, a Modèle general representative of a Sujet. Employed in psychoanalysis, the concept of prototypes recovers a clean significance definite by Carl Gustav Jung: empty preforms which organize the instinctive and spiritual life, structure the mental images (thought, Fantasme S, dreams…). One can also define a prototype as an analogical point of view on a reality significant, likely to integrate the totality from the points of view which one can have (definition according to Dr. Michel Mouret).
Literature and philosophy
The prototype of a given subject is based on a Image representative strong, characterized, recognizable. To note: the extreme correlation bottom-form. One should not confuse prototype and Stéréotype which is two very different concepts; it is always necessary to keep in mind which a stereotype is the vision of a social group by another (for example the stereotype of the Maghrebian immigrant is not the same one among inhabitants of Nanterre as among Alsatian villagers), while the prototype is recognized like universal .
However, sometimes, a stereotype can be considered according to a general subject then the Nuance with the prototype of the same subject is difficult to encircle. In fact the prototype is independent of all a-priori and does not take account of any Convention, it is about the representation most accurately representative of what is the general subject and this most objectively that it is possible.

The Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung calls prototype what organizes and structure the unit of the psychic processes of the human being, as well as the Instinct of the animals.
