Protoss
The Protoss are one of the three races of characters who appear in the universe of fiction of the Video game of strategy in real-time StarCraft, published by Blizzard Entertainment. They seem inspired by extraterrestrial by the Seventies for the physique, but their psychic technologies, traditions and capacities are not without pointing out the Eldars Warhammer 40000 or the Yautja S of Predator.
History of Protoss
Several million years before our era existed in the galaxy of the Milky Way a race called Xel' Naga. Its origins were unknown. Its culture opened out and its capacity extended, with its apogee, on an empire of several thousands of planets. But Xel' Naga had not gained these planets with their empire by the force, this race was extraordinarily peaceful contrary year and privileged science with the war.During thousands of years, Xel' Naga traversed the universe and explored various planets that they found there. When they discovered a form of life there, Xel' Naga helped the creatures to develop. Their intentions were however not completely not involved, they were inhabited by the idea to create a perfect form of life. They helped the other races thus to grow and to improve technically and scientifically, but they also intervened in the genetic heritage of these creatures and tried to handle this one by hoping that these deteriorations would more quickly lead them to the supreme goal to create a perfect race. The search of Xel' Naga through the universe thus lasted several thousands of years during which she discovered and observed the races on various planets apart from her sphere of influence. But without never succeeding in creating its " race parfaite" !
Disappointed by their many reverses, Xel' Naga gave up their exploration of new planets and ceased their searches of races. They concentrated on the planet Aiur for which the results reached hitherto seemed promising. This planet was covered with thick jungle and had produced a race of particularly resistant creatures which had known well to adapt to this hostile environment. These creatures had developed, to surprised of Xel' Naga, a completely particular gift they communicated between them by a kind of instinctive telepathy, which enabled them to reach an extreme effectiveness in group. Xel' Naga were impressed so much by progress of this race that they gave him the name of Protoss, which means about " first né". Protoss were thus the first race to fill high waitings of Xel' Naga.
But although Protoss answer their waitings, Xel' Naga remained very dissatisfied with the slowness of their progress. They thus intervened directly in the development of Protoss and accompanied this one during several millenia. Prudently, without revealing itself, they directed Protoss until those became an intellectually and culturally higher race. At the end of thousands of years, the various tribes of Protoss disseminated on the surface of planet had formed a great nation. Then Xel' Naga estimated that Protoss were sufficiently advanced to learn all the truth on their history and their development. They went then on planet of Protoss and the leaders met some. Protoss surprised by the arrival from these abroad, transfer in them average D to acquire additional knowledge and thus a source of profit for their race. The arrival of Xel' Naga seemed to predict one century of gold. However, it proved soon that Protoss, contrary to waitings of their " pères" , was not the so much hoped perfect race. Xel' Naga were first of all, rightly, proud their Born Prime Ministers, because Protoss integrated all new knowledge submissively. But a desire of independence slowly started to be born in their conscience. The social links and the Community feeling escaped Protoss which aspired to play their own part within the universe. The Prime Ministers Born became so proud that they made of this subject a vital question not only for their race but also for each Protoss individual.
The consequence of this development was that the various tribes of Protoss moved away always more from/to each other, which Xel' Naga observed with the greatest regret. Slowly, the doubt was born in them: Perhaps they had pushed the development of Protoss too far and it direction of the community, which found also its expression in the telepathic communication, it had then left room to selfishness. Following this development the various tribes derived always more and did not meet any more but with one growing mistrust. Even Xel' Naga were not regarded any more as the large benefactors of the universe. Protoss started to observe them with suspicion and to wonder what they really manigançaient.
In their aspiration to offer a place increasingly larger to individuality, the various tribes moved away so much from/to each other that even the extraordinary capacity of Protoss, the psychic connection, was lost. For Xel' Naga, the disappearance of this extraordinary quality was the final proof that their attempts were a failure and that the Prime Ministers Born would not become the so much hoped perfect species. Disappointed, Xel' Naga prepared their departure of this planet. Protoss observed the preparations with mistrust and, little before the ships Xel' Naga do not leave planet, were ruèrent with the attack. At the time of this fulgurating attack, the Prime Ministers Born massacred thousands of these creatures which they still adored like gods a few years before. Xel' Naga however succeeded in pushing back Protoss and leaving planet with most of their ships. From now on only and delivered to themselves, Protoss started a gigantic civil war. As it was foreseeable, the old community tore in innumerable small factions which clashed during years. In this war, Protoss erased the heritage which they held of Xel' Naga and forgot their benefactors gradually.
The war of Protoss seemed to never have not to end and nothing any more appeared to be able to reconcile these individualists. Lastly, one day Protoss arrived whose true name is fall into the lapse of memory since centuries and which the legend indicates by " That which brought the order ". This Protoss examined the vestiges ruins of them leashes by Xel' Naga in their escape. Although the Technology of the benefactors, resting primarily on the crystals, was extremely complex, he managed to include/understand the function of the old machines Xel' Naga. It then included/understood what its race had given up for individuality and knew that Xel' Naga had been right Protoss had failed.
That which brought the order then gathered around him the Protoss young people and started to teach its knowledge to them. It developed with its followers a radical system to explain and reverse the consequences of the tragic events of the past. It succeeds in convincing more and more of First Born that individualism exacerbates was at the origin of all their evils. But it remained still much of way to traverse. The essential component of the new order rested on the abandonment of the old usual system in favor of a division of the company in three castes. These castes did not superimpose one with the other, but coexisted side by side and were characterized primarily by their functions. The caste of Judicateurs was composed of Protoss old men full with experiment which them new function ordered to use from now on for the good being of all the race. The most caste by far was that of the Khalal S. It was in charge of necessary works to the survival of the species and gathered the workmen as well as the scientists contributing their share to the community. The third caste was called caste of Templiers and its spot consisted in protecting Protoss and their planet. The membership of a caste was primarily determined by the capacities, and not by the membership of such or such tribe. In this manner, it was assured that all the Protoss tribes would be represented in each caste and that the jealousy and the desire which had reigned so a long time from now on would be excluded. Above these three equal castes in rights, a body representing was the Protoss government, generally called Conclave.
Under the authority of the Conclave, thanks to the precaution of Judicateurs, with the work of Khalals and the protection of Templiers, Protoss once and for all succeeded in putting an end definitively to their civil war. The following years finally brought to the Prime Ministers Born happiness and satisfaction. They transformed the Aiur planet into prosperous paradise. Science knew spectacular progress and Protoss finally succeeded in carrying out voyages through cosmic space. In a few hundred years hardly, they conquered and populated several hundreds of planets in their cosmic sector. But they did not forget the bloody lesson drawn from their own civil war. If Protoss met other races, they did not fight them, but tested contrary to integrating them. In a certain manner, Protoss joined the philosophy of Xel' Naga, with this close which they never tried to handle the other species. They preferred to act secretly, so that the races which were still too primitive to include/understand concepts as cosmic space or space navigation did not suspect that a benefactor followed closely their development.
Then appeared, with the borders of the sectors controlled by Protoss, a new race which they are reflected to observe with curiosity. This species had come on board spaceships, but it was absolutely impossible to determine from where these ships came. The strange creatures quickly started to explore various planets with the accesses of the sphere of influence Protoss then to take possession of it the Prime Ministers Born took care well not to be shown and observed the strange creatures by far. This race, which indicated itself by Terran, was spread at a worrying speed, not showing absolutely any respect for nature. The planets which it conquered were systematically exploited and cultivated.
Concerned, Protoss continued to observe the animation of Terrans. They felt suddenly obliged to take initiatives and to intervene when strange space vehicles appeared at the borders of the Terran sector. A Protoss patrol fell on one from these spaceships these strange objects which planed in space appeared of organic origin. But like Terrans, Protoss did not manage to discover the source of these vessels. A fact was certain they moved towards the sector of Koprulu, in which Terrans had recently settled.
Protoss brought back some specimens of these organic spaceships on their planet to be able to examine them more attentively. The analyzes revealed with surprise that they were indeed organizations having faculty to live in space. Inside these biological spaceships were smaller organizations still. The Prime Ministers Born then tried to explore the small brains of these creatures by means of their telepathic capacities and remained amazed. Essential parts of the way of thinking of these tiny creatures stated obviously that these organizations had developed starting from the old race of Xel' Naga. A fact was rather revealing the creatures reacted immediately to the energy emitted by the crystals but, Protoss held their science of the crystals of Xel' Naga. By examining the spirit of these tiny beings, Protoss discovered an additional fact enough worrying apparently, these creatures were only the avant-garde of powerful armed forces programmed genetically to destroy Terrans.
The Prime Ministers Born had a long time looked at the agitation of Terrans with mixed feelings. Faculties and the capacity of these creatures had astonished them. Protoss had never been of opinions that Terrans were a particular race and some went until thinking that it would undoubtedly be preferable to let the invaders exterminate the human ones. But had a question arose why Xel' Naga created these creatures? Moreover, it was completely conceivable that after the destruction of Terrans the turn would come from Protoss. Finally the decision was made to send Large Templier Tassadar with a fleet of vessels in the sector of Koprulu and to defend the planets terranes so necessary.
When Tassadar arrived near the planets terranes, Protoss dismayed could note that the invader had arrived before them on one of planets colonized by Terrans. There did not remain to them other option only to destroy this planet, named Chau Sara. Terrans had not noticed the invaders yet on the other hand, the action of Protoss did not pass unperceived. They thus regarded the Prime Ministers Born as the true threat and sent a fleet to their meeting, with for mission of destroying them. During this time, the true invaders continued their dark plans unrelentingly…
