Protocols of Wise of Sion

The Protocoles of Wise of Sion (in Russian, Протоколысионскихмудрецов or Сионскиепротоколы) is a forgery, manufactured by a Russian living with Paris, the request of the secret police of the tsar, and for this one which made of it an instrument of Propagande.

This document was written at the end of the 19th century with Paris by a forger Russian anti-semite, Mathieu Golovinski. The text tended to make believe that there was a program developped at the point by a council wise Juif S wanting to destroy the Christendom and to dominate the world. The book is composed of accounts supposed to be the reports of a score of secret meetings exposing a secret plan of domination of the world. This imaginary plan would use violences, tricks, wars, revolutions and would rest on the industrial modernization and the Capitalisme to install a Jewish capacity. The publication with large scales of this text claimed to reveal this “Jewish Complot”. This text had a destiny sadly celebrates because it was taken again by Adolf Hitler, which made of it the showpiece of propaganda anti-semite of the Third Reich. Since then it did not cease being read and amply diffused; it constitutes a central part in the arsenal of the contemporary Antisémitisme, One also finds it in the theory of ZOG, appeared in the mediums of Extrême right-hand side with the the United States.

Introduction

The Protocols of Wise of Sion , sometimes extra titles Jewish Programme of conquest of the world , are appeared in two times and two close versions, both published in Russia, initially partially in 1903 in the newspaper Znamia (Знамя), then, in a full version, in 1905 and 1906. It become however famous for the general public only in 1920; when in its edition of the May 8th 1920 The Times of London evokes this “singular little book” in a leading article titrated “the Jewish Danger, a disturbing lampoon. Ask of investigation”. One year later, in August 1921, the Times reconsiders its error and publishes the proof of the forgery under the title the end of the Protocols .

A forgery

The attentive examination of the text highlighted falsification: the Protocoles are in fact only one plagiarism of the text of the Dialog to the hells between Machiavel and Montesquieu , published with Brussels in 1864 by Maurice Jolly, which denounces a plot Bonapartist there. Trickery becomes obvious by simple comparison line with line of the two texts.

The truth on its author, as for it, was not discovered that at the end of the 20th century by a historian in Russian Littérature: Mikhail Lépekhine thanks to the opening of the Soviet files starting from 1992. The forger indeed became fellow traveller of the Soviets who held the documents.

The structure of the falsified text discovered, then the forger and the causes of falsification identified, there remains today any more no doubt about the reality of this document. However, certain parties or anti-semites groups, even certain modes continues to quote the Protocoles of Wise of Sion like irrefutable proof of an international Jewish plot… The historians are however unanimous on this coarse falsification, with the paradoxically considerable consequences.

History

Mathieu Golovinski knows well the techniques of the Propagande, having worked in the Années 1890 for the Department of the press with Saint-Petersbourg directed by Michel Soloviev, a anti-semite which makes of protected Golovinski its.

Exiled with Paris, he works with the Figaro with the son of Maurice Jolly, Charles Jolly, and exerts his talents near Pierre Ratchkovski for the Russian political police (the Okhrana) in France. In France the policy of Discrimination with regard to the Jews by the mode of Nicolas II causes criticisms. The Russian anti-semites in exile want to consolidate the Tsar in his policy, even to incite it to harden it.

This is why Ratchkovski only orders the Protocoles , intended for the origin with the tsar. The text, “authenticated” by the ministry for the interior in spite of the reserve of advising nearest of the Tsar, the Count de Witte, wants to be a decisive proof of a Jewish plan of domination of the world resting on industrial and financial modernization.

However, according to Jacques Halbronn, It is probable that one initially made a text denouncing of it the maconnic schemes before Golovinski does not transpose it, in his turn, in a text aiming at the Jews.

Uses

This text was used thereafter as instrument of Propagande anti-semite, with the Nazis in particular. Characterizing the Jews on racist bases and either only religious, it was and remains one of the major vehicles of the modern Antisémitisme, using the logic of the Théorie of the plot.

The work is today interdict in the State S Europeans. He enjoys a certain popularity among the populations of the the Middle East where he is regularly republished in the majority of the countries Musulman S, since his first translation in Arabic and edition in Egypt, in 1951. The Protocols appear like reference in the Charte of Hamas of the Palestinian islamist movement Hamas. See the notes below on the place which this text occupies, firstly in the majority of the Moslem countries, and secondly on the diffusion of the text of the “Protocols” in the Arab countries.
