Propétides
In the Greek Mythology, the Propétides are women living on the island of Cyprus, associated sometimes with prostitutes, sometimes with witches - sometimes with the one and the other - and who deliver themselves to human sacrifices by devouring their hosts (“crowned” concept at the time) and to the prostitution. The goddess Aphrodite decides to punish them because these last refuse to celebrate her worship: it metamorphoses them in rock.
