Pronétaire

Pronétaire is a Néologisme created by Joel de Rosnay in 2005 starting from the Greek pro , (“in front of”, “front”, but also “favorable to”) and of the English Net (“network”), which led to French name familiar of Internet (the “Net”). The word “ pronétaire ” gets busy like common noun and is a wink with the word " Proletarian ". The adjective is “ pronétarien ”. The whole of the pronétaires constitutes the “ pronétariat ”.

For Rosnay, the pronétaires are a new class of users of the numerical networks able to produce, diffuse, sell to digital contents not owners, while being based on the principles of the " new news économie" , i.e. able to create important flows visitors on sites, to allow free accesses, to make pay very personalized services at low prices, to exploit the effects of amplification…

" Professionals amateurs" (or " pro-ams"), they use for that of the tools similar to those of the professionals and easily accessible on Internet. It acts users, Net surfers, of " Blogueur s", of Citizens like the others, but which enter more and more in competition with the traditional Infocapitalistes, to which they do not make any more confidence, to get information, listen to music, to see vidéos, to read books or to communicate by telephone, that because of the too high costs of the products and proposed services and their difficult access for the least favoured.

Since a few years, we would thus assist, on a virtual theater, with the development of a news Class struggle between the “infocapitalists”, who hold the contents and the distribution networks of mass and the pronétaires. The massive and collaborative production by this new pronétariat, continues of Rosnay, represents a revolution as important as that of the beginning of the industrial era symbolized by the Steam engine, then by intensive mechanization and automation. Today, thanks to the new tools of being able of the pronétaires, resting on the Numérique and the Internet, this revolution is even faster and takes court the capacities in place. Admittedly, " empire against-attaque" , but with means repressive, legal, or of media propaganda, misfits.
