Prohibited release
The prohibited release (in English icing ) is a fault of play of the Hockey.
The team in defense does not have the right to give off the metal disc towards her zone of attack, of behind the central red line. The line judge stops the play as from the moment when the metal disc crosses the red line located in zone of attack. This rule is valid in the European and international championships.
In the major part of the leagues of hockey of North America (National league of hockey or American League of hockey for example), such a release is not inevitably prohibited: if the first player with touching the metal disc is same team as the player having carried out the release, the play continues. If a player of the opposing team (other that the goalkeeper), recovers it, there is prohibited release. As long as the metal disc is not touched, one of the line judges keeps an arm in the air and if the release is validated it will draw aside the arms with the horizontal one. This alternative was removed LNH since the season 2005-06 and was replaced by the international rule.
The engagement is made with dimensions one from where the metal disc left, in zone of defense of the faulty team.
The prohibited release is announced by the line judges, and can be cancelled by the latter:
- in the event of obstruction by the team in attack
- if the metal disc is touched by a player after the central red line
- in the event of a voluntary refusal to play of the team in attack
There cannot be release prohibited for a team in numerical inferiority.
Case of the national league of hockey
Since the Season LNH 2005-06, in the LNH, the team which carries out a prohibited release will not have the right to change its players and the same players will have to take part in next engagement. This rule was introduced because the players tended to give off the metal disc when the tiredness of a line started to be felt.| Random links: | Rachel Felix | Canton of Vibraye | Blood-of-bourbe | Moanda long lease | Linda Evans (writer) | Newbury,_Vermontn |
