prohibited Planet is one of first films of science fiction having profited from the color and the format cinemascope. With 2001, the odyssey of space , it is also one of the two films of science fiction which durably marked the kind and them époque. The scenario is inspired by the Storm of William Shakespeare of which it constitutes a transposition in the kind of the Space-opera. One of rare films where the first names of the characters of the French version were francized (Bertrand, Olivier, etc)
- the robot of the televised series Perdus in space ( Lost in space ) division much “of the character traits” of Robby like some of its mechanical attributes although of a less advanced mobility. The two robots were created by the same man, Robert Kinoshita, and will meet even in episode 60 of Perdus in condemned space entitled space ( Condemned off Space ) ( cf ).
- the music of the film and the sound effects, create by the husbands Louis Barron and Bebe Barron, forms what one regards as the first film original soundtrack using only electronic sources. The film made it possible the Electronic music to touch the general public and the impact on the development of this music in the USA was important.
- prohibited Planet , the film, strongly influenced the televised series Perdus in space ( Lost in space ). The characters are different because we have to make here with a kind of family Robinson Switzerland (lost) in space, or more particularly on a planet, whereas the film describes a crew which was crushed on a planet, with few survivors, who will be helped… But the true vector of the series is the robot, a copy quasi in conformity of film. Television series, 1965 - 1968, 83 episodes over 3 seasons, generated itself, in 1998 the film Perdus in space ( Lost in space ).
