Prohibited (anthropology)
See also: Prohibited
The prohibited are the elements mediators between Sacré and Profane. They state what one should not do, but not what it is necessary to make. The transgression of an interdict is supposed to start fatal consequences.
The interdicts are related to implementation a particular of the world, and aim at avoiding temporary or permanent fatal consequences. If the interdict is not transgressed, then the dependant fatal consequence cannot take place. If a “fatal consequence” occurs, it is that the Interdict was transgressed.
The interdicts fit in individual cycles (interdicts during the menstrustations of the women, for example) or in the more general social organization (prohibited on the pigmeat for the Islam, for example).
For the functionalist , the interdicts act like a social control: it is a question of maintaining the cohesion of the group and the values of the company, apart from an institution.
