Program of Bad Godesberg
The program of Bad Godesberg (in German: Godesberger Programm ) is the name given to the broad outlines of the policy adopted by the social democrat party of Germany, SPD, in November 1959. It bears the name of the town of Bad Godesberg, from now on started from Bonn, where a congress was held then of the party.
With the program of Bad Godesberg, the SPD formally gave up for the first time the ideas of Marxist inspiration .

The program of Bad Godesberg came to replace the preceding Marxist program SPD, adopted in 1952.It comprises, mainly, following measurements:

Renunciation of the Marxism and introduction of references to Christian ethics , the humanism, the traditional Philosophy.
- Rejection of the Anticlericalism, with approval of collaboration with the Church.
- “total Honesty” with regard to the fundamental law of FRG and use of democratic means for the political struggle.
- “free competition and free initiative of the contractor”, thus recognizing the market economy and giving up any idea of Nationalization (without to give up the role of the State).
- Denunciation of the Communism.
- Will to make SPD the party of the entire people, all confused social categories.
