Program Soyuz

The program Soyuz of manned flight was launched to the beginning of the year 1960 within the framework of the lunar program which aimed to lead a Soviet Cosmonaute on the the Moon. The spaceship Soyuz and the rocket Soyuz make all two part of this program.

History

The project of man on the the Moon N1-L3 was abandoned because of engineering problems.

The Soyuz program survived the abandonment of the project of man on the the Moon because it was implied in many projects (as well civil as military), mainly in conjunction with the program of space stations Salyut and Almaz.

Today, Soyuz makes it possible the Russia to carry out manned flights and is used to transport of the personnel and the material towards and since the International space station (ISS).
