Analyzes

After several individual attempts, Erroc and Pica join and create the series Profs , published initially in the Newspaper of Mickey then in albums since 2000. They are published by Bamboo, thus joining the series of the civils servant , of the gendarmes , the firemen …

The albums consist of independent boards putting in scene a pedagogical team within a difficult Lycée, each teacher being more or less caricatural.

This cartoon turns in derision the principal defects and the stereotypes generally allotted to the teachers. For example, to have like single subject for conversation their work, the fact that they attend only teachers, the abundance of the strikes… The stories, though satirists, are always respectful, they give teachers a rather positive image and sympathetic nerve, even eccentric.

Characters

• the headmaster : a rather caricatural headmaster, it plays of his authority, while misusing his statute to release itself from the problems. He adores his trade and his college so much so that he spends several hours to leave his office the evening of the beginning of the summer holidays.

• the CPE : such a caricatural CPE, called Mickey by the pupils because of its ears. It is in love with its car and often benefits from the hours from adhesive from the pupils so that they repaint it.

• Amina : young French professor, it is rather tempting and puts on clothes enough provocants. The majority of the pupils are in love with it. It seems to like its work, to give the best of it even while knowing that its mission is far from being gained.

• Maurice : professor of philosophy, old of about fifty years, it is the caricature of average Frenchman. He adopts attitudes sometimes surprising, and thanks to its experiment, often the last mot. Its sleepwalking has sometimes leads it in incongruous situations.

• Antoine Polochon : initial professor of history, it is impassioned by his trade and his matter. He has much evil to be made respect by the pupils and is known for his sentence “this day, Napoleon called to his generals… ”, that he never manages to finish.

• Dolorès : Spanish professor, it is famous to make incomprehensible courses. It is a frail and timid small woman. She lives only for her trade, does not like the holidays and does not think that one can follow another occupation. It has many children.

• Eric : professor of EPS, it is originating in the south of France. Enough sure him, it does not cease praising its physical qualities and the benefits of its discipline, which it regards as most important. Its courses are a true nightmare for the pupils who are not sportsmen (in particular for certain Boudini). It sometimes happens to him to improvise rather curious sports such cross-country races in the sewers or of the ski jump inside the gymnasium…

• Gladys : English professor, it incarnates the caricature of the “skin of cow”. It spends its time to humiliate and lower the pupils whom it regards as incompetents (it often says to them: " you are null to puff out your copies"). It can speak only while howling. Its English level strongly leaves something to be desired.

• Paul : professor of geography, it is a pure and hard trade unionist.

• Albert : professor of physical sciences, it is very sarcastic and ironic. He is famous for the frequent explosions which its scientific experiments cause, which is worth the nickname of " to him; Mister Boum".

• Serge Tirocul : it is a very lazy professor, so much so that the pupils forgot which matter it teaches. He perpetually seeks pretexts not to ensure his courses.

• Rene Langlois : it is a depressive professor and incredibly unlucky person, persuaded who he is teacher because of a curse.

• Talbin : it is the professor of economy. It with the practice to teach subtleties of the liberal economy to the pupils for concrete examples of the poker type. He plays out of Stock Exchange, which enables him to arrive in class sometimes in Ferrari and sometimes in the bicycle. He is famous for his verbal tics in class.

• Thierry Boulard : this pupil is the caricature of the dunce, but is an emblematic figure of the college.

• Louis Quotation mark : French professor, it regards the young people as being a lost, violent generation and that the police force should come to the college to protect the professors. To note that in page 36 of volume 1, it is called Mr. Goff

• Marie : young German professor, it recently arrived at the college. It and Antoine Polochon are in love.

• ? : its name is still unknown. He is probably professor of geography. It is a keen explorer of mysterious country as San Gazpacho of which it brings back a rather original teaching equipment of reduced the head kind.

• the caretaker : it east fears by all the pupils, because of his dog. He hates Boulard particularly, because he must permanently erase his tags.
