Professor Nimbus
The professor Nimbus is the character of a Comic strip French “dumb man” in four images. It was created and drawn by André Daix (of its true name André Delachenal) (January 21st 1901 - December 27th 1976). With more than 11.000 adventures on close to 60ans, Professor Nimbus, was the series most published in our daily newspapers, and most popular.
The character
It is a man bald person with only one hair in form of Question mark and round glasses. Its adventures are short " blagues" of comic simple.Today a professor Nimbus appoints an eccentric or unconscious scientist.
Publication
After having started by making animation, André Daix creates some characters of data base:- Fratellini (in Ric and Rac 1935-1937)
- Saladin (in Marseilles Morning , 1937-1939)
- Chiffonnette (in Paris-Evening, 1939-1940)
- the Baron de Crécus (in the Morning, 1940-1943)
- Pollycarpe (in the Car).
Professor Nimbus appears in the Morning of 1940 to 1944. After the Second world war, shown Collaboration, Daix the comic strip stops and flees with the Portugal then in Latin America. The character is taken again by other authors for Opera Mundi of which Rob-Vel and Pierre Goff.
Daix will return to France a few years later at the time of a Amnistie.
