Proclamation of surrealism
Manifeste of surrealism is the title of a text of André Breton which will write thereafter Second proclamation of surrealism .
These two texts accompanied by others, as from 1962, were published whole under the title: proclamations of surrealism .
Proclamation of surrealism (1924)
This document in the beginning was designed as a foreword with soluble Poisson which will be published the same year. Heteroclite, the text gathers various moments of writing which one can try to analyze. In her study, Elisabeth Kennel-Renaud counts 10 elements.

Breton the Surréalisme defines: “Pure psychic Automatism by which one proposes to express, either verbally, or in writing, or in any other manner, the real operation of the thought in the absence of any control exerted by the reason, apart from any esthetic or moral concern”.

Reprinted without change in 1929, the Proclamation however was increased by a foreword and “Letter with conspicuous” of 1925.

Warning for the republication of the second proclamation (1946)
With time, André Breton is done more human and tries to give in their respective contexts the conflicts which it could have with some artists. It keeps its positions however.
