Proche-orient.info was a partially paying Web site of information held by the Middle East Info SA, specialized on the questions of the Middle East and directed by the journalist Elisabeth Schemla. The first closing is announced on June 30th, 2005, for “problems of financing”. October 1st, the site announces the reopening of the newspaper following a subscription test. Reopening is effective on January 5th, 2006.
In September 2006, and following an extraordinary general assembly of the shareholders on September 1st, a permanent closure is announced took effect on September 22nd, 2006, “because of economic difficulties”.
Description
