Procedure (data-processing)

In Data-processing, a procedure is a function which does not return a result.

One can however notice that under this definition the procedures are rare in a language as C where to have a value of return is the standard. One thus qualifies procedure of the functions like printf () (posting) or scanf () (flow analyzes) which has as a value of return a number measuring the success or not execution of the aforesaid the " fonction".
