Problem of Malfatti
The problem of Malfatti is stated as follows:
Being given a triangle ABC, to build with the rule and the compass three circles respectively registered in the angles has, B, C of the triangle and such as each one of them is tangent to both others.
This problem was posed in 1803 by Giovanni Francesco Malfatti. This one with analytically shown the existence of these three circles.
Jakob Steiner has to propose a geometrical construction in 1826.
