Pro/Engineer , developed by the company Parametric Technology Corporation is a Logiciel of integrated CAD, i.e. comprising at the same time modules of pure design but also the possibility of carrying out calculations of dimensioning, animations kinematics, of integrating hydraulic or electric systems, of conceiving the manufacture part.

Pro/Engineer was the first software of CAD to exploit the concept of parametric Conception. Each entity is defined by parameters (lengths, angles…) who can be modified easily and change the definition of the part.

The base of the software rests on an architecture GRANITE.

Granite is solid core of modeling and surface 3D directed function, equipped with a technology supporting associative interworking between applications CAD/FAO/CAE. Derived from the products PTC, which count among the best, GRANITE contains a technology which makes it possible the applications to mutually read their files as if they were native files and to evaluate, analyze and create geometries. The GRANITE raison d'être is to authorize a true simultaneous engineering by the means of heterogeneous and associative processes of design. It contains libraries of associative modeling as well as an environment of development especially conceived for rapid prototyping and the development of applications CAD.

Pro/JURALPE

Created in November 1998, Pro/JURALPE is a French-speaking association of the Pro/ENGINEER users completely independent of PTC®. The members with Pro/JURALPE can inform themselves on the capacities of Pro/ENGINEER®, to group their requests to obtain an answer of PTC, to take part in the technical presentations of Pro/ENGINEER® and to collaborate within work groups.

CUP.fr

Old French association of the users. CUP.fr resulted from successive fusions of the French clubs of users CADDS, MEDUSA and PTC. Officially disolue in 2006.

PTCuser

Worldwide association. Gather all associations relative to PTC.
