Pro*C

The Pro*C is a tool making it possible to include orders SQL in a source C. It is acted in fact of a Pré-compilateur: the Pro*C source is translated into source C with calls to the libraries ORACLE.

Compilation supplements is thus done in several stages:

  • the source mon_bidule.pc first of all passed to the precompiler pro*c, which will generate the source file C mon_bidule.c
  • the source mon_bidule.c passed to the compiler C, which will generate the file object mon_bidule.o
  • the file object mon_bidule.o is related on the libraries ORACLE (and possibly to the other files objects if it there of a) with the data link, which will generate achievable final the mon_bidule

An important point which is not obvious with the first access: at the time of the first phase (pro*c), a connection to the ORACLE waiter is carried out.
