Under the Old Mode, the privilege of the King or, by ellipse, the privilege , is an exclusive authorization to print a work. This authorization was delivered after reading of the Manuscrit by the royal critics.
With the 18th century, Crébillon father and wire were among the royal critics most known. The first exerted 1735 with 1759, the son of 1759 with 1775.
