Synopsis

This serial puts in scene Michael Scofield, an engineer in very intelligent Civil engineering. This serial is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions in partnership with Original Television and Twentieth Century Fox television. The executive producers are Paul Scheuring, Matt Olmstead, Dawn Parouse, Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Brett Ratner.

In the beginning, the basic concept of Prison Station-wagon (a man deliberately imprisons himself in a prison in order to organize an escape) was suggested in Paul Scheuring by a colleague, Francette Kelley. Even if Scheuring immediately thought that it was an good idea, it did not know how to develop it to make a history which holds the road and to make it of it accept with a television channel. While reflecting there more, it ends up proposing the history of the brother condemned wrongly and the secondary intrigue of conspiracy. From there, it starts to write the screen of Prison Station-wagon and to design the characters. Distribution

Main characters

Lincoln Burrows (interpreted by Dominic Purcell) is a minor offender who was condemned to died for the murder of the brother of the vice-president of the United States. After the diffusion of the first episode of the second season of Prison Station-wagon , Fox authorized the free diffusion of the episodes on more than fifty Internet sites including AOL, Google and Yahoo!, like its official own site. However, that is strictly reserved in the United States. The first three episodes of the second season were available on the Net during one week after their diffusion on the television channel. Then, the diffusion on line without possibility of remote loading (), was deferred. However because of the interruption of the serial during three weeks due to the diffusion on Fox of the playoffs of the major League of baseball, a strategy is developed by News Corporation (a subsidiary company of Fox and MySpace) to maintain the interest of the televiewers towards Prison Station-wagon . As from October, Fox starts again to diffuse the last episodes of the second season on MySpace and other Internet sites belonging to him. To compensate for the exemption from payment, the chain included several imposed publicities.

Mobisodes

A spin-off of the serial, Prison Station-wagon: Proof off Innocence , was carried out exclusively for cellphones. It includes/understands 26 episodes of approximately two minutes each one. It is the fruit of a collaboration between the car manufacturer Toyota and Fox. The manufacturer uses it to promote one of his vehicles: Toyota Yaris . The first episode became available on the site of Toyota the May 8th 2006. Prison Station-wagon: Proof off Innocence introduces new characters, of which Amber McCall, a friend of L.J. (it receives in particular the photograph that L.J had taken at the time of the assassination of his/her mother and her father-in-law), but the decorations remain identical to the principal serial.

Conventions

The first convention Prison Station-wagon three days took place from May 18th to May 20th 2007 in Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow, with London. The actors present were Robert Knepper (T-Bag) and Stacy Keach (Henry Pope).

Headstocks

Headstocks with the effigy of the two main characters Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, were produced by the Chinese store Hot Toys. These toys left in pulling limited in June 2007 and cost approximately 400 euros part.

Anecdotes

Prison Station-wagon was the subject of several parodies since its creation. In May 2006, the American magazine MAD n°465 carried out a satire entitled " Prison Fake ". In an interview, Wentworth Miller declares that one of the best things which arrived to him since he is success is this passage in the magazine.

In France, the organizer Sebastien Cauet also diffused the March 24th 2007 a parody of the serial in its emission “Cauet turns over the TV! ”, with Cecile de Ménibus in Sara Trancredi and Cauet as Michael Scofield.

In addition, Fantastic Easter Special , the fourth episode of the eleventh season of the animated series South Park used two named characters TeaBag and Nick Donovan. It is a wink with characters of Prison Station-wagon: T-Bag and Nick Savrinn/Veronica Donovan (lawyers of Lincoln Burrows in the first season).
