Princely States of the Indies by religion

One will find below the list of the States princely of the Indies existing at the time of the independence of the India and the Pakistan in 1947 and classified according to the religion of their leader. In the large majority of the cases, the people and the leaders shared the same belief. However in some cases this rule was not checked, it was in particular the case of the Jammu and Cachemire where Mahârâja was Hindu and people mainly Moslem.
