Primelin

Primelin ( Prevel into Breton) is a common Canton of Bridge-Cross in the Cape Sizun, department of the Finistere, in the area Brittany, in France.

The derived adjective is primelinois .

Geography

Primelin is a commune of the Baie of Audierne, bordering on Plogoff, in the West, Cléden-Cape-Sizun and Goulien in North, and Esquibien, in the East, broadside in the south by the Atlantic Ocean, on which the ports of Porstarz open, in the South, and of Loc' H, in the West.

History

Monuments

parochial Church Saint Primel , with the Borough of Primelin - the current building dates from the XVIII° century (between 1773 and 1776, with use of many stones of the preceding building built at the 14th century) the bell-tower, gone back to 1776, is of baroque type, deadened by a dome with skylight. An octagonal turret gives access to the gallery to traditional balustrade. The southern side porch, like that of the vault of Saint-Tugen, has his openwork tympanum. The “Pardon” of Saint Primel is celebrated first Sunday of August.

Vault Holy Tugen , with the locality Holy Tugen - the current building, dominated by a 28 m massive and high, 29 25 m m length and broad tower, was built, on the site of an old vault tréviale mentioned in 1118, between 1535 and 1582 on the initiative of the lord of Lézurec, Rene of Carry out, then in front of the multitude of the pilgrims, several times between 1610 and 1750 were increased. Vault Holy Chrysanthe , in the North-eastern valley of the hamlet of Kerscoulet. This small building of rectangular plan, with round bedside and pinnacle with dome, rebuilt in 1856, contains a fountain at the entry. Forgiveness is celebrated previous Sunday the festival of the Rise.

Manor of Lézurec between the localities Loval and Cross-Denis; A Chapelle in this manor is dedicated to holy Marguerite, and is for a long time closed down. It is about a rectangular building of plan, with round bedside and pinnacle with dome. It carries the date 1626 to the lower part of the external niche which shelters the stone statue of the holy one.

Events

Every year, during three days with the Rise, Primelin lodges one of the eight sites of the Mondial Pupils of Football.
