Prigorodny
Town of Ossétie of North near to the capital Vladicaucase. Historically, the area of the district of Prigorodny on Right Bank of the river Terek belonged to the Ingouchie. It was attached to the Ossétie of North by Stalin in 1944 after the deportation of the Ingouches in Central Asia. Although Ingouches were thereafter authorized to turn over on their grounds, the territory itself returned forever to the Ingouchie, causing sharp tensions in the area.
It was the site of combat in 1992 at the time of the independence of Georgia (see Ossetian-Ingush conflict)
