the Price of the Ville of Geneva for the Cartoon exists since 1997. It is given by the Department of the cultural affairs of the Town of Geneva.

It is composed of two distinct prices: the International prize and the Price Töpffer. The first can reward any author for cartoon, which an album left in the year under review. The second price is a price of encouragement reserved to the authors who have resided for at least two years in Geneva.

The prices are given each year at the beginning of December to the Gallery Paper-Fat in Geneva. They are equipped with a price of 10 ' 000 Swiss francs each one.
