Price Kurd Laßwitz

The Prix Kurd-Laßwitz ( Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis ) is a literary prize not equipped which rewards for the authors of Science-fiction. This price aims to honor best literary creations with the field of the German-speaking science fiction in order to support the prizes winner and the science fiction of German language.

The Kurd-Laßwitz Price was created in 1980 on the model of the Prix Nebula American and bears the name of the German author of science fiction Kurd Laßwitz. The elected jury of the Kurd-Laßwitz Price inter alia is trained professional authors, editors and translators or semi-professionals.

The price is decreed in six different categories: “Better novel”, “Better news”, “Better translator”, “Better illustator” and “Special price”. In 1983, a new category makes its appearance: “Better foreign novel”. In 1987, the jury adds two more additional categories: “Better film” and “Better radiophonic part”. Each year best the productions are rewarded for the previous year.
