Price John Wood Campbell Memorial

Literary prize created in 1973 by Harry Harrison and Brian Aldiss, and rewarding for works of Science fiction. Decreed by a made up committee professional judges with published works the previous year, the Prix John Wood Campbell Memorial is a homage to the writer John W. Campbell, which was also the editor magazine Astounding Science Fiction until its death in 1971.

Since 1979, the price is given at the time of annual conferences in the buildings of the University of the Kansas. It is it should be noted that in 1976, the jury decided that no novel published the previous year deserved the price. This is why it was exceptionally decreed in a retrospective way to a work published in 1970.

The winner of the Prix John Wood Campbell Memorial gains a trophy carried out by Eldon Tefft and representing a ring out of steel on a basis out of wood.
