Price Ernst von Siemens
The Price Ernst von Siemens , of the name of one of the descendants of the family of German industrialists Siemens, which died out in 1990, is regarded as the Nobel Prize of the music . It is allotted each year since 1974 to a type-setter, an interpreter or a musicologist of international repute.
In 2006, the May 12th with Vienna, the price was given to the pianist and leader Daniel Barenboïm. The speech was made by Pierre Boulez, one of the former prizes winner. The price is of: 150000 euros; the whole of the prices granted by the foundation Ernst von Siemens rises each year with: 1300000 euros.
