The price Carl-Friedrich-Gauss for mathematics applied is a reward given jointly by the international mathematical Union and by the German mathematical Union in order to reward the “remarkable contributions leading to significant applications apart from the field for mathematics”. The first handing-over of reward in 2006 was allotted to Kiyoshi Itō and should be held then every four years, at the time of the international Congrès of mathematics.

The price, named according to the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss consists of a handing-over of money (10 000 US dollars in 2006) and there does not exist age limit to be named, contrary to the Médaille Fields.
