Literary prize decreed as from 1972 by the British Fantasy Society and rewarding for works of Fantasy. Allotted to published works the previous year, the Prix British Fantasy is also a homage to the writer August Derleth. In the category “Romance”, the price is named besides August Derleth Award .
The winner gains an ivory statue which represents Cthulhu, creature imagined by Howard Philips Lovecraft.
