Press youth
The press youth is addressed to the children as of their first months to the neighborhoods of their majority.
In France, it is composed of two main categories:

the press for children: with about fifty titles, it addresses to an active assistantship infants (certain magazines are especially carried out to be “read” as from 6 months) with the teenagers (until approximately 14 years);
-
the press for teenagers and young adult: with a score of titles, it is addressed to an assistantship made up of pre-teenagers (from 10 to 12 years), of teenagers and young adults (until approximately 25 years).
One can also make the distinction between “distractive press”, “educational press” and “religious press” (catholic). The limits of the category presses youth are difficult to determine, since certain titles of press, in particular treating sport or personalities of the song, are read quasi exclusively by minors.
The topics approached are the reading (and its training), the discovery, the cartoon, spirituality, the fashion…
Press groups
In France, the Syndicat of the press of the young people gathers seventeen editors publishing 87 titles. All the editors are not adherent, like, for example, Disney Hachette Presses, one of the principal editors of the press youth.
The sector is dominated by three groups.
Bayard and Milan
The group Bayard presses, in addition to his own titles intended for youth, repurchased, in 2004, the group Milan Presse, specialized in the press youth. The unit represents approximately 25 % of the market of the press youth.Fleurus (Life it World)
Fleurus Presse is a subsidiary company of the group the Life it Monde.
Disney Hatchet
Hachette Filipacchi Médias (HFM) exploits the licenses of marks belonging to the American group Walt Disney Company since 1934. Kid Paddle magazine, published in partnership with the Belgian editor Dupuis is the only foreign title with the Disney universe. The youth publications are gathered within the subsidiary company Disney Hachette Presses.
