Presidents de Tchécoslovaquie

Since its creation, less than one century ago, the Czechoslovakia knew an animated history which is reflected in the list of its presidents. Certain historians, Czech in particular, consider struck nullity the governments according to the abdication of Edvard Beneš. There is continuity of the Czechoslovakian Republic of 1938 to 1945. Without us to pronounce on this opinion, force is to note that one calls “Second Czechoslovakian Republic” indifferently the transitory State which follows the agreements of Munich and that which is reconstituted post-war period until the " blow of Prague" in February 1948.

First Czechoslovakian Republic

Tomáš Masaryk : November 14th 1918 - December 14th 1935
Edvard Beneš: November 18th 1935 - October 5th 1938 (abdication and departure in exile)

Second Czechoslovakian Republic

General Jan Syrový: October 5th - November 30th 1938 (Prime Minister and Head of the temporary State in the absence of Edvard Beneš, resigner)
Emil Hácha: November 30th 1938 - March 21st 1939

Protectorate of Bohemia-Moravie, Slovak Republic and government in exile

Emil Hácha : March 22nd 1939 - May 13rd 1945 (with the title of “President d' État” of the Protectorate of Bohemia-Moravie)
Jozef Tiso: elected official on October 26th, 1939 chair Slovak République - April 4th, 1945
Edvard Beneš is in parallel, from London, president in exile of the Czechoslovakian Republic.

The first January 1993 takes place the separation of the Czechoslovakia in two States (Czech Republic and Slovakia).
