President of the National Assembly of Quebec
The President of the National Assembly of Quebec is the president of the deliberations of the National Assembly of Quebec. She is one of the oldest parliamentary assemblies of the world. Its first meeting take place in 1792. Of British type, the institution named at the beginning the Chambre from assembly of Low-Canada (Legislative Assembly off Lower Canada) and its president was until in 1968 called the Speaker (Speaker) as with the House of Commons of London and Ottawa.
Traditionally, the president must be unanimously selected and must leave his parliamentary Groupe for the duration of his presidency. Since the 4 June 2003, the president of the National Assembly of Quebec east Michel Bissonnet. He is member of the Liberal party of Quebec.
