Presentation of the face
The presentation of the face is a presentation allowing under certain conditions a normal Accouchement. It is rare, representative from 0,5 to 1% of the births.
The child presents to the entry of the basin his head, very deflected (behind cranium touching the back). If work does not raise any particular difficulty in general, the childbirth even is very particular for him, and its exit can be problematic according to the position of the head of the fetus in the maternal basin.
When the diagnosis is made by it at the beginning of work, the majority of the obstetricians propose a Césarienne taking into account the dubious exit of the childbirth. If it is about a “surprise” at the time of expulsion (possible possibility…) one can however let the childbirth be done normally.
