The presbytery (of the Latin presbyterium , of the Greek presbuteros ) is the dwelling of the Curé.

Sometimes it is often located near the parish churches and appears like historic building of certain localities.

Constructions of presbyteries are financed by the parishes. When a parish is impoverished, it is not rare that it starts by selling its presbytery.
