Prefecture of Wawa

The Préfecture of Wawa is a prefecture of the Togo, located in the Région of the plates

Its capital is Badou

Geography

It is located at the west of Togo, between the central Région, with north and the Préfecture of Agou, in the south.

Its point the highest Mount Djogbé, culminates to 915 m

Demography

Its estimated population (2002) is of 145.000 inhabitants. The ethnos group Tém dominates in this prefecture of which the name " Wawa" is resulting from the dialect Tém

Economy

The plantations of Coffee and Cacao are located in the most fertile parts of the prefecture.
