Prefecture of Toyama

Toyama (富山県, toyamaken , “mount rich” in Japanese) is a prefecture Japan located in the area of the Chūbu.

Geography

Located at the edge of the Sea of Japan, it is bordered of the prefectures of Niigata, Nagano, Gifu and Ishikawa.

Culture

The town of Takaoka is known for its buddha, one of three larger of Japan after those of Nara and Kamakura.
