Prayer wheel

A prayer wheel ( mani korlo in Tibetan) is a cultural object used by the Tibetans practitioner the Bouddhisme.

The traditional prayer wheel consists of a Cylindre filled with Mantra S and being able to turn freely around a axis. According to the beliefs associated with this object, to actuate such a mill with the same spiritual value as to recite the Prière Mantra, the prayer being supposed to spread itself thus in the airs as if it were marked.

The mills often laid out in long series are put moving one after the other by the faithful one which passes in front of them. The faithful one moves the mills with its right hand. And the mill must be turned in the direction of the needles of a watch, so that will mantra it is read in the direction where he was written.
