Prayer of the Good Friday

The prayer of the Good Friday is a universal Prière marked the day of the Good Friday, during the week of Easter.

Universal prayer

History

In the prayer for the Jews, one found until in 1959 a mention considered as offensive for the Juif S (" perfidis"). It was introduced at the 7th century into the catholic Liturgie of the Good Friday. Then kneeling and the quiet prayer were removed at the 8th century.

Theological work between 1959 (Jean XXIII) and 1969 (Paul VI) modified this Prière.
